Connectivity with the world, the hospitality of its people, and the proven ability to organize high profile international events make us an ideal region to host congresses, conventions, expositions, and more. Central America is and has been the site of important forums and global meetings such as the Organization of American States (OAS), the International Olympic Committee, the European and Latin American Technology based Business Network (ELAN), among others. The region already has a hotel infrastructure and convention centers and facilities for the development of events, and is currently working on the construction of new convention centers in Costa Rica, Panamá and Nicaragua, which will greatly expand the offer of the region.
At the same time, the Central American countries have designed incentive policies to attract direct foreign investment and promote exports. Specifically, incentives for tourism have been vital for the creation of new projects, resulting in the considerable expansion of the region’s tourism offer.
