Breakfast and transfer to Cihuatan, one of the best archeological sites in El Salvador. Walking tour for its interpretive trails, visiting the acropolis, some pyramids structures and the museum. Then, transfer to the rum local factory, for to known the made process of this aromatic and delicious beverage made of sugar cane, to end our tour we will have a tasting of the different rums that the factory produce. Back to the hotel and the afternoon off.
Breakfast and departure of the hotel and transfer to Copan. On the way we will visit Joya de Ceren archeological site, declared by UNESCO World Heritage. Joya de Ceren is one of the most important archeological sites of the “Mayan World, because it shows the remains of a unique farming village in all of Mesoamerica that was cover by the ashes of the Caldera volcano eruption 1400 years ago, nowadays we can see some housing structures of the time in good condition. Breakfast and departure of the hotel. Transfer to Ataco and arrival in the afternoon. This little village is famous for its coffee farms, wood craft and looms, located at 1200 meters above sea level. Breakfast and departure of the hotel. Transfer to San Salvador, on the way we will visit “Los Volcanoes National Park” located at 2000 meters above sea level. Here we will have an impressive views of the Izalco and Ilamatepec volcanoes and Cerro Verde. Hike by the trails of the Cerro Verde crater with amazing views of Coatepeque lake. Breakfast and city tour. Bus tour through the main avenues, monuments and squares of the side modern city. Then arrival to the historical downtown of the city, visit to the Rosario church unique for its architectural style in Central America, visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, and plazas Gerardo Barrios, Francisco Morazán and Libertad. Panoramic view of the National Palace and National Theater. Then transfer to san Salvador volcano located at 1860 meters above sea level and visit the huge crater called “El Boquerón” of 1.5 kilometers of diameter and 558 meters of deep.
