For 15 days you will travel through Nicaragua, Panamá, and Costa Rica, visiting colonial cities, national parks and volcanoes, and learning about the Spanish influence in the continent.

Day 1

Upon arrival at Managua airport, you will be received by our representative and taken to the hotel in the city of Managua.

Day 2

Transfer to the city of León, visit to the Basilica of the Assumption, declared as World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The remains of Rubén Dario and other important personalities of history rest here. Visit the Rubén Dario house-museum and the art center, Foundation Ortiz-Gurdián.

Day 3

Transfer to the city of Granada. On the way, visit to the Masaya Volcano National Park. The road takes us to the edge of the active Santiago crater. Continue to the Handicrafts Market, where you can find carved crafts, traditional clothing, ceramics and local gastronomy. Panoramic tour of the city of Granada.

Day 4

Day tour of the Islets of Granada, an archipelago of more than 300 islands located in Lake Cocibolca. You will enjoy beautiful landscapes of the Mombacho Volcano and the flora and fauna of the islands. Back to Granada, visit to La Merced Church. From the top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city. Visit to the San Francisco Museum and Convent with its collection of historical objects and paintings.

Day 5

Transfer to Peñas Blancas border crossing. Our representative in Costa Rica will provide you with transfer to Rincón de la Vieja.

Day 6

Optional tours around Rincón de La Vieja. The representative can give you more information upon arrival.

Day 7

Morning at leisure for activities or relaxation. Afternoon transfer to La Fortuna, Arenal.

Day 8

In the afternoon, hike in Arenal and Tabacón Hot Springs. The hike on one of the trails of Arenal Volcano will give us the opportunity to enjoy the forest of the area. End the visit to the Tabacón Hot Springs with a warm bath in the thermo-mineral waters, with the option of a relaxing spa.

Day 9

At 1:00 pm the representative will pick you up and transfer you to Sarapiquí.

Day 10

Transfer to Tirimbina, where you can enjoy the chocolate tour. In two and a half hours, you can discover the secrets and wonders of chocolate. It is important to mention that the cultivated area of Cacao is NOT for commercial use and was originally cultivated in the traditional way.

Day 11

Early morning departure from the hotel for Sixaola (Costa Rica-Panamá border) The trip lasts approximately five hours. Then you will be welcomed by our representative in Bocas del Toro (Panamá) to take you to Almirante, where you will board a boat that will take you to the wonderful Isla Colón (this part of the transfer takes about two hours).

Days 12 and 13

Day 12.

Visit to Coral Cay and Zapatillas Cay which are protected zones, located 40 minutes  from downtown Bocas (by boat). Ideal place to snorkel, watch dolphins, corals and marine life accompanied by white sand that give the best impression of true paradise.

 

Day 13.

Transfer to the local airport for your flight to Panamá City. Upon arrival, departure to Lake Alajuela in Chagres National Park to visit the indigenous community of Emberá. The indigenous people will tell you about their culture and history, as well as show you the different techniques they use to create their handicrafts, the medical use of plants, and their lifestyle in general. Return to the city – Check-in at the hotel.

Day 14

We leave at 6:15 am to board the railroad that crosses the Soberanía National Park bordering the Panama Canal and that will take us to Colón (Atlantic side). On arrival, transportation will take us to Portobelo to visit one of the most important fortifications of the colonial period. Visit the church of San Felipe known by the Black Christ that is devotion of many people in the area, especially since most the inhabitants are Afro-Antilles descendants. Return to the city in the afternoon.

Day 15

Departure for the Miraflores Locks at the Panamá Canal to learn about the history of this magnificent man-made wonder. Continue to Casco Antiguo, declared as World Heritage Site by UNESCO, featuring historical places such as the Golden Altar, Plaza de Francia, Las Bóvedas, among others. Transfer to the international airport.
