Playa de Estrellas or Starfish Beach is a beach of white sand, and turquoise and crystalline waters, that is abundantly inhabited by giant starfish of a lively orange color. The stars are everywhere and can be seen simply with a diving mask. However, nobody is allowed to touch them or remove them from the water.
To get to the beach, the best option is to do it in one of the many communal minibuses that travel from the town of Bocas, on the island of Colón, to Bocas del Drago, in the northwest of the island. The bus ride lasts 45 minutes to Bocas del Drago, and then you have to take a walk of approximately 20 minutes to reach the Starfish Beach, one of the most interesting destinations for nature lovers.
The highest concentration of starfish on the beach is precisely at the end of the trail that leads to the coast from the bus stop. The first impression, with the turquoise blue dotted with orange stars, remains engraved forever in the memory of the traveler.
